Rehabilitation and wellness since 2012

Toronto Wellness & Physio Center

Toronto Wellness & Physio Center is a private rehab clinic with two locations, one on Wilson Avenue in North York and one on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill. Physiotherapy is the main service at both, and chiropractors, massage therapists, osteopaths, a naturopathic doctor and a psychotherapist work in the same clinics, so most recovery plans can be booked through one phone line.

45-Minute Assessment

Two clinics, one patient file

An assessment done at either clinic is saved to the same record, so you can switch locations when your schedule or address changes without repeating the intake. The main practical difference is Sunday: North York opens, Richmond Hill does not.

I had a massage with Natalia and I was very happy with my experience. She has amazing hands and really knows what she’s doing. I felt so relaxed…afterward. I’ll definitely be coming back to see her again

Services under one roof

Most patients start with one discipline and add a second when their plan calls for it, such as massage between physiotherapy visits or osteopathy for a problem that keeps returning.

Main service at both clinics

Physiotherapy

Assessment and treatment of joint, muscle and nerve problems through exercise, hands-on therapy and education. Covers sports, work and car accident injuries as well as recovery after surgery.

Chiropractic

Spinal and joint assessment with adjustments and soft tissue work, most often for back pain, neck pain and headaches that start in the neck.

Massage Therapy

Treatment for muscle tension, overuse strain and stress. Many extended health plans include a yearly massage allowance.

Acupuncture

Fine needles placed at specific points to ease pain and muscle tension. Offered by registered acupuncturists, including the clinic's founder.

Osteopathy

Gentle manual therapy that looks at how stiffness in one area changes the load on another, useful when pain moves or keeps coming back.

Naturopathy

Visits with a naturopathic doctor covering nutrition, lifestyle and supplement guidance alongside your other care.

Psychotherapy

Talk therapy with a registered psychotherapist trained in EMDR, for anxiety, stress and the emotional side of injury and chronic pain.

Products and other services

Custom orthotics, compression stockings and orthopedic braces are fitted and supplied at the clinic. Medical aesthetic treatments are booked separately from rehab care.

Meet the care team

Every practitioner has a profile listing their training, languages and the clinic they work from. Physiotherapists' registration can be checked on the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario public register, linked on each physiotherapist's card.

Insurance, direct billing and OHIP

Most visits are paid through extended health benefits. When your plan allows it, the front desk bills the insurer directly and you pay only the uncovered balance at the visit.

If your insurer is not in the list, you can still claim: you pay at the visit and submit the receipt to your plan yourself.

Work, accident and government-funded claims

Claims outside regular benefits follow their own rules and forms, and each has a program page with the details.

Program

Who it covers

Workers with an accepted WSIB claim

People injured in a crash in Ontario, under auto insurance accident benefits

Patients whose rehab is part of an active legal claim

Patients covered by the Interim Federal Health Program

Employer and private benefit plans

OHIP coverage

Toronto Wellness & Physio Center is a private clinic that is not enrolled in Ontario's government-funded physiotherapy program, so OHIP does not pay for visits here. Seniors, children and youth, and people discharged after a hospital stay may qualify for funded physiotherapy at designated clinics, and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario explains who is eligible.

Before you book

The answers below cover referrals, cost, insurance and what to expect on the first visit.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No. You can book any service directly. Some benefit plans still ask for a referral before they reimburse physiotherapy or massage, so check your policy if you plan to claim.

No. This is a private clinic, so visits are paid by you, your extended health plan, or a WSIB or auto insurance claim.

Yes, with most extended health plans. Bring your insurer's name, your policy or group number and your member ID, and the front desk will check your coverage before the visit.

An initial physiotherapy assessment with treatment is $120, and a 45-minute follow-up is $100 ($120 with shockwave). These are starting prices: the final fee can be higher depending on your condition, the treatments added and the length of each visit, and pelvic floor, concussion and dry needling care are priced separately. Confirm the cost for your case with the clinic before your first visit. Our guide to physiotherapy costs compares these fees with Ontario averages.

Your practitioner reviews your history, examines the problem area, explains what they found and starts treatment in the same visit. The first visit runs longer than a follow-up, and most follow-up physiotherapy sessions are 45 minutes.

Usually, yes. Same-day openings are often available for new patients, and the North York clinic is also open on Sundays.

Yes. Both clinics share one patient file, so your notes and treatment plan follow you.

Yes. The clinic accepts auto insurance accident benefits and WSIB claims and handles the insurer paperwork. Bring your claim number if you have one.

Loose, comfortable clothing that lets the therapist see and move the area being treated, such as shorts for a knee problem or a tank top for a shoulder.

Call the clinic as early as you can so the time can go to another patient. The front desk explains the cancellation policy when you book.

English, Farsi, Hindi, Turkish and Pashto. Call the clinic before your visit to book a practitioner who speaks your language.
